GREY ANT: culture clash
When the show opened with a texas chainsaw style massacre, as Michael Jackson, boy george and cher look-alikes watched from the audience, you knew it was going to be entertaining at the very least. And sure enough, designer Grant Krajecki didn't let us down. Added to the mix of euro sportswear, jumpsuits, and '70's track slax, the makeup went into '80's overdrive with homage to Culture Club's Boy George and his trademark eyeliner, and winged brows.

face: for a matte but light finish, apply WET/DRY FOUNDATION with BRUSH #1; and finish with a light dusting of SILK LOOSE POWDER. Apply SMASHING PRESS BLUSH to temples and cheekbones.
eyes: use the silver/blue shade from SMASHING CASTING CALL EYESHADOW TRIO all around the eye and create a wing. Next, apply SMASHING CAVIAR CREAM EYE LINER around eye and line inside. curl lashes, and add one coat of FOCAL POINT MASCARA. cut a false eyelash in half, trim off short ends and apply to outer corner of each eye, add another coat of mascara.
lips: SMASHING CLICK LIP GLOSS.

JUAN CARLOS OBANDO: show stopper
Juan Carlos' women know what they want, and aren't afraid to go after it. Working in unison with the designers sexy, curve accentuating clothes, Karl and the smashbox artistry team developed a drop dead gorgeous makeup for the Obando models, and boy oh boy, the runway was steamin' hot. There were two looks for the show which built it's theme around hunters and fairies, the hunters being the bolder of the two. Strong smoky eyes were paired with a coral red mouth, while skin was dewy and flawless-this look is always a winner.

face: for a light, dewy finish, apply BACKDROP COOLING TINT with BRUSH #1. next use SMASHING INFRARED STAIN STICK to sculpt cheekbones and sweep up onto temples. For highlights apply SMASHING FLASH to brow bone, top of cheek and down center of nose.
eyes: use SMASHING CHAMPAGE all over eye area and the chocolate shade from SMASHING SMASHBOX.COM EYESHADOW TRIO on lid blending upwards. Next, apply SMASHING PICASSO CREAM EYE LINER around eye and line inside; gently smudge with eye liner brush. curl lashes, and add two coats of FOCAL POINT MASCARA.
lips: SMASHING PROP LIPSTICK.

REBECCA BEESON: bardot babe
rebecca wanted a modern-day version of sixties sex kitten's brigitte bardot and marianne faithful-a kind of slightly lived-in, sexy, rock-chick style. eyes are smoky and heavily rimmed with an emphasis on the outer, upper corner of the eyelash for a feline look. lips are peachy topped with lots of gloss, and cheeks stay on the warm side creating a healthy glow.

face: apply STUDIO SEAMLESS LIQUID FOUNDATION with BRUSH #13; then finish with PHOTO MATTE ANTI-SHINE PRESSED POWDER. dust SMASHING APERTURE BLUSH on cheek and brow bones.
eyes: apply the gray shade of SMASHING SNOW SHADOW EYE SHADOW DUO from lash line to the crease, blend upwards until fluid. Run the same color under the eye along the lower lash line and smudge. using the white shade, apply to brow bone and inner corner of eye to highlight. curl lashes and add one coat of FOCAL POINT MASCARA in black.
lips: SMASHING SEDUCTION with SMASHING CANDLE dabbed in middle of lip to create highlight; top with SMASHING CRYSTAL LIP GLOSS.

CESAR DE LA PARRA: L'Opera
fresh from doing an equally as dramatic look for the marc jacobs store launch party, makeup artist extraordinaire, karl giant, went full out for the cesar de la parra show which took it's inspiration from the color and drama of an 17th century opera. on de la parra's catwalk, eyes dazzled in semiprecious shades-from aquamarine blue to emerald green. the look also marked the return of fake lashes which, even in a more paired down way, could definitely inspire a few dangerous liaisons of your own.

face: prep the skin with PHOTO FINISH FOUNDATION PRIMER. apply STUDIO SEAMLESS LIQUID FOUNDATION with BRUSH #13 and top off with PHOTO MATTE ANTI-SHINE PRESSED POWDER. if desired, adding a whitening powder. for cheeks, add a touch of SKINT TINT in SMASHING ULTRAVIOLET.
eyes: apply LIP AND LID PRIMER in SMASHING NATURAL for an even and long-lasting base. use SPECIAL EFFECTS in SMASHING SHOCK or any other vibrant color of your choice (you can use one, two or more colors) and apply to the eye lid, starting at the lash line and extending past the brow bone. repeat as desired with other colors. finish with two coats of FOCAL POINT MASCARA in SMASHING BLACK. add false lashes and a sprinkling of glue-on sparkly jewels around the brows and underneath the eyes.
lips: using BRUSH #6, apply LIPSTICK in SMASHING TOUCH in a circular, geisha girl shape. add a few jewels for a glamorous final touch!

NAQADA: vanity fairy
inspired by a collage of influences including imelda marcos, reese witherspoon in vanity fair and a few pixie fairies, it was hardly surprising that naqada designer, octavio carlin, wanted to stay chic simple when it came to the beauty. eyes were bright in soft peach and framed with a classic elegant line. white shadow on the inner rim opens the eyes to create that beautiful, fresh, wide-awake look. cheeks and lips flatter in a stained rose for a youthful flush. simply gorgeous! quick tip: stains will emphasize the natural sensuality of your lips because they work with the contours.

SHAY TODD: moroccan princess
dreams of hot moroccan nights and days spent wandering through kasbah's were present at shay todd, where an ultra exotic mood was presented in jewel-toned fabrics and fluid shapes that drifted across the runway. the look was sultry and seductive as smoky-grey cat eyes were paired with soft coral lips and flushed cheeks-dark and delightfully dangerous.

eyes: apply CREAM EYE LINER in SMASHING CAVIAR to upper and lower lash line for a smoky eye base. using BRUSH #15, apply the charcoal shade of SMASHING CAMERA READY EYESHADOW TRIO blending upwards and fading into the brow bone. sweep some color along the lower lash line also. apply SMASHING FLIRT EYESHADOW to the inner corners of the eye and right underneath the brows. finish with two coats of FOCAL POINT MASCARA in SMASHING BLACK.

SHERI BODELL: rock stars
as the models strutted down the runway to the rockin' sounds of inxs' suicide blonde, clad in skinny studded pants and tasseled leather jackets, shaggy hair teased into wild ropey strands, it was all very sheri, who herself looks like an eighties rock star. faces were natural and dewy, with a beautiful pale mouth, while eyebrows were defined and strong.
